The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has partnered with software company Chooose to expand the reach of its CO2 Connect emissions data, making it accessible to a wider range of corporate and individual travellers through airline sustainability platforms.
Under the agreement, airlines that manage their Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) programmes using Chooose’s platform will now be able to integrate IATA CO2 Connect data—grounded in operational inputs from over 70 airlines and aligned with IATA Recommended Practice 1726 and ISO 14083—directly into their customer offerings.
According to IATA research from April 2025, 40% of travellers, especially those flying for business, regularly check the carbon footprint of their flights. By incorporating CO2 Connect into its platform, Chooose aims to address growing demand for transparent and accurate emissions data in the aviation sector.
“For years, Chooose has enabled airlines and travel companies to access emissions estimates to support their SAF initiatives and customer engagement,” said Joseph Beaudin, CEO of Chooose. “The integration of IATA CO2 Connect enhances this by offering an industry-backed dataset that improves over time with real operational data and SAF reporting.”
More than 30 airlines globally that partner with Chooose will now have the option to incorporate IATA’s emissions data into their reporting frameworks. The partnership reinforces IATA’s strategy to promote reliable and standardised emissions measurement tools throughout the aviation industry.
IATA CO2 Connect uses real-world aircraft performance data to generate flight-specific emissions estimates and can factor in SAF-related reductions. Its recent alignment with ISO 14083 strengthens its status as a recognised standard for carbon emissions reporting in both passenger and cargo air transport.
“IATA CO2 Connect is the only travel emissions calculator based on operational airline data,” said Frederic Leger, IATA’s Senior Vice President for Commercial Products & Services. “Our goal is to make this data as widely available as possible to support accurate reporting and better travel management decisions. Our collaboration with Chooose is a significant step toward that goal.”
Chooose is also a member of the IATA Strategic Partnerships Program and has been active in shaping emissions reporting standards and contributing to global decarbonisation initiatives in aviation.
