IBA has announced a major update to its Airlines Pro platform, introducing features aimed at improving sustainability analysis, operational monitoring, and system integration for aviation stakeholders. The upgrade includes enhanced environmental, social and governance (ESG) scoring, new carbon impact dashboards, expanded alerting capabilities, updated API functionality, and improved cross-platform navigation between IBA Insight modules.
Nick Stafford, IBA’s Product Development and Digital Transformation Director, said: “Our latest Airlines Pro enhancements are the result of close collaboration with clients and our ongoing investment in delivering market-leading aviation intelligence. From ESG transparency to operational efficiency, these new features represent a step forward in how our users monitor and manage airline risk and performance – delivering faster decision-making and deeper analytics.”
A newly launched API now provides access to airline financials and risk scoring, enabling integration into proprietary systems and workflows. This is designed to support more automated analysis, particularly for financial institutions and lessors. In addition, IBA has released ESG scores for over 90 airlines. The 2023 dataset goes beyond basic emissions metrics by incorporating load factor-adjusted carbon intensity, sustainable aviation fuel usage, noise performance and wider environmental data, creating a more comprehensive benchmark for sustainability assessments.
The update also brings the IMPACT and CO₂ per Revenue Tonne Kilometre (RTK) dashboards directly into Airlines Pro, allowing users to compare carbon efficiency across carriers. These tools are intended to support ESG analysis, due diligence, and regulatory reporting. Alerting functionality has been overhauled, with real-time notifications now integrated into the platform. Instead of relying on static email alerts, users can click through to live dashboards, enabling faster response times.
Flight alerts have also been introduced within the platform, via the Insight mobile application, and through email. These allow lessors, investors and banks to monitor whether leased aircraft are being underutilised compared to similar models in the same fleet, as well as receive alerts if any aircraft in their portfolio land in prohibited countries. For users of both Airlines Pro and Fleets modules, airline risk scores are now embedded directly into aircraft asset reports, enabling assessment of asset exposure based on the operating airline’s risk profile.
Navigation across the platform has also been improved. When an airline is selected in IBA Fleets, the same operator will now be pre-selected in Airlines Pro, speeding up research and analysis. A new interactive airline tree structure has also been introduced to reduce the time required to locate and review specific airlines.
These enhancements form part of IBA’s broader product development roadmap, which the company says is shaped by client feedback and aligned with the changing demands of the aviation industry.
