Infosys has announced an update to its ESG Vision for 2030, setting more ambitious targets across climate action, digital inclusion, community impact, and corporate governance. The revised roadmap builds on the company’s original ESG commitments made in 2020 and reflects its continued focus on sustainability and responsible business practices.
The updated ESG Vision outlines key areas of focus including climate change mitigation, water and waste management, digital skilling and employability, workplace inclusivity, community engagement, employee wellbeing, governance, and data privacy.
Under its enhanced climate goals, Infosys aims to become climate positive by 2030, going beyond carbon neutrality—which it has maintained for six consecutive years—by removing more greenhouse gas emissions than it produces across Scopes 1, 2, and 3. The company also plans to remain carbon neutral through 2029.
As part of its social impact efforts, Infosys intends to provide digital skills training to over 18 million people, including its employees, clients’ workforce, students, and educators, and aims to create employment opportunities for more than 500,000 individuals. The company also seeks to expand its TechForGood and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly in the areas of job creation, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.
Infosys has reported that its digital inclusion and skilling programmes have reached 13.3 million people to date. Its community-focused initiatives have increased water-holding capacity by 4.3 billion litres through 11 lake rejuvenation projects across India in FY24 and FY25. It also claims to have impacted over 125 million lives through digital governance, healthcare, and education programmes.
On governance, Infosys stated that it will continue to strengthen board diversity and inclusion and aims to set industry-leading standards in data privacy and information security. The company is the first India-headquartered firm to have received Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) approval from EU data protection authorities.
