Lululemon hires former Nike sustainability chief to lead ESG strategy

Lululemon has named Noel Kinder as Senior Vice President of Sustainability, as the company seeks to strengthen its environmental and social governance efforts. Kinder will be responsible for leading the implementation of Lululemon’s global sustainability and environmental strategies, as well as overseeing governance structures related to these initiatives. He will report to Chief Supply Chain Officer Ted Dagnese.

Kinder joined Lululemon last week following a nearly 25-year career at Nike, where he most recently served as Chief Sustainability Officer. In that role, he led the development and execution of Nike’s sustainability strategy, including science-based targets and company-wide environmental commitments. His previous roles at Nike spanned sourcing, manufacturing, finance, and operations.

The appointment comes as Lululemon continues to embed sustainability more deeply into its operations. Kinder has previously served on several advisory boards, including those of the Collab Fund, the New York Stock Exchange Sustainability Advisory Council, and the Global Fashion Summit Steering Committee.

Lululemon also confirmed the departure of Esther Speck, who held the role of Senior Vice President of Sustainable Business and Impact for nearly a decade. The company acknowledged her contributions to shaping its sustainability agenda and navigating the transition to new leadership.
