The Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) has officially appointed Martin Short as its new Executive Director, following his seven-month tenure as Interim Executive Director. Short brings extensive experience in global philanthropy, having previously served as CEO of The Power of Nutrition and President of the World Cocoa Foundation.
“We are thrilled to have Martin lead ETP into this next chapter,” said Tom Franks, Chair of the ETP Board of Directors. “His leadership has already positioned us for a strong and stable future, and we look forward to building on this momentum under his direction.”
Short’s appointment comes as ETP undergoes a leadership transition, with Jenny Costelloe stepping down after five years as Executive Director. Costelloe’s tenure has been marked by strategic leadership and a firm commitment to advancing sustainability across the global tea sector.
“We are incredibly grateful for Jenny’s immense contributions to ETP and the tea industry,” Franks added. “Her leadership and passion have shaped much of what ETP has accomplished in recent years.”
Costelloe will continue supporting ETP’s work until mid-March, focusing on assisting its members with Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) legislation.
The leadership shift marks a new phase for ETP as it continues its mission to promote sustainability and ethical business practices within the tea industry.
