Morningstar Sustainalytics has appointed Gregory Van Droogenbroeck as its new Chief Product Officer, strengthening its leadership team as demand grows for integrated ESG and climate solutions.
Based in New York, Van Droogenbroeck joins from Lazard Asset Management, where he served as Director of Sustainable Investment, Data and Analytics. He succeeds David Pagliaro, who was named President of Morningstar Sustainalytics earlier this year, and will report directly to him.
In his new role, Van Droogenbroeck will oversee the firm’s strategic product roadmap across its core ESG and climate businesses, including research, data, ratings and insights. He will also lead efforts to accelerate product transformation, integrate ESG and climate capabilities more closely across the broader Morningstar platform, and ensure offerings evolve in line with changing client needs and market conditions.
Commenting on his appointment, Gregory Van Droogenbroeeck said: “Morningstar Sustainalytics has a long track record of innovation, deep analytical expertise, and a commitment to transparency and driving positive change. I look forward to working with teams across the business to advance our product strategy and continue to deliver trusted products to clients around the world.”
David Pagliaro, President of Morningstar Sustainalytics, said the appointment underlined the firm’s commitment to leadership in high-growth areas. “Gregory’s experience across sustainability, data and analytics will help sharpen our product focus and accelerate the delivery of high-impact ESG and climate tools our clients expect,” he added.
