Norges Bank commits $1.5bn to Brookfield’s energy transition fund

Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest with assets of around $2 trillion, has committed $1.5 billion to Brookfield Asset Management’s latest energy transition fund.

The move will see the Norwegian fund channel capital into renewable energy infrastructure projects while supporting the broader shift to low-carbon solutions.

In a statement, Norges Bank Investment Management, which manages the fund, said: “The Brookfield fund will invest across North America, South America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific, where Brookfield has an established operational presence.”

The commitment underscores Norway’s growing role in global climate finance, aligning its vast investment portfolio with the energy transition agenda.
