Global marine insurer NorthStandard has named Kate Kwiatkowska as its new Head of Sustainability, reinforcing its commitment to embedding sustainability at the core of its long-term strategy.
Kwiatkowska joins from Fintel plc, where she served as Head of ESG and Corporate Marketing. In her new role, she will lead engagement efforts with NorthStandard’s members, brokers, employees, and other stakeholders, integrating sustainability into the company’s broader strategic vision. Her responsibilities will include reviewing the Club’s sustainability priorities, developing key performance metrics, and establishing reporting mechanisms to track progress over time.
“The Head of Sustainability plays a pivotal role at NorthStandard, coordinating, developing, and driving the organisation’s strategy to ensure that we are operating responsibly and building an organisation that will support and protect our members not only today but for future generations,” said Ed Davies, Chief Strategy Officer at NorthStandard.
“Kate has an impressive track record in leading strategic projects and implementing a sustainability strategy for an AIM-listed business in the retail financial services sector. Her expertise in stakeholder engagement and data analysis makes her an ideal fit for this role. Her appointment underscores NorthStandard’s continued commitment to sustainability across the organisation.”
Kwiatkowska’s career achievements include being named ‘Woman of the Year – ESG’ at the Professional Adviser Women in Financial Advice Awards in November 2024. She has also been a finalist for multiple ESG and sustainability-related accolades. She holds an MSc in Risk, Disaster and Environmental Management from the University of Huddersfield and certifications, including Leading Sustainable Corporations from the University of Oxford.
