Novata, a sustainability data platform for private markets, has announced an expansion of its partnership with S&P Global Sustainable1, aimed at strengthening sustainability management for corporates and investors.
The enhanced collaboration will combine S&P Global’s sustainability expertise with Novata’s technology platform to streamline data management and reporting across three key areas:
- Carbon: Organisations can calculate and manage Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions through Novata’s Carbon Navigator, underpinned by S&P Global Sustainable1’s expertise and the Trucost Carbon Dataset.
- Regulatory: Companies can capture audit-ready data on Novata’s platform, supported by S&P Global Sustainable1’s sustainability reporting services, to prepare for evolving disclosure requirements.
- Benchmarking: Corporates will be able to measure and benchmark performance against S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) framework while simplifying collection and reporting processes.
Alex Friedman, Novata’s chief executive and co-founder, said the expansion reinforced a shared commitment to advancing sustainability in private markets. “With S&P Global’s unmatched sustainability intelligence and our market-leading platform, we are equipping organisations of every size to act decisively on sustainability as a driver of resilience and value creation,” he said.
Leanne Todd, head of energy transition, sustainability and services at S&P Global Commodity Insights, added: “The expansion of our collaboration with Novata will allow more organisations to access the tools they need to manage risk, uncover opportunities and report with confidence.”
The partnership is designed to help companies simplify sustainability data management, improve carbon accounting, and strengthen resilience against climate risks while aligning with global reporting standards.
