Puro.earth designated leading carbon credit issuer by frontier

Puro.earth has been designated a Leading Credit Issuer by Frontier, an advance market commitment backed by Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, Meta, McKinsey, and other businesses. Frontier has committed to purchasing over $1 billion in permanent carbon removal between 2022 and 2030.

The designation signifies that Puro.earth meets Frontier’s criteria for credit issuer quality, including governance, scientific robustness, and transparency. This recognition positions Puro.earth as a preferred certification partner for carbon removal suppliers working within Frontier’s procurement framework, subject to methodology-specific approvals.

Puro.earth also announced the rollout of its updated carbon credit registry—Puro Registry v2.0. The new platform introduces enhanced verification systems, improved reporting tools, and expanded API functions intended to improve traceability and data accessibility across the lifecycle of carbon credits.

The company has issued one million CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) since its founding in 2019 and aims to reach the same milestone again by mid-2026. CORCs issued by Puro.earth are independently verified by third-party auditors and logged in the company’s registry.

Puro.earth’s certification methodologies are focused on engineered carbon removal with storage durations exceeding 100 years. These include techniques such as biochar, carbonated materials, and geological storage, as well as other emerging technologies.

Frontier’s endorsement of Puro.earth reflects a broader effort to standardise and improve the quality of credits in the voluntary carbon removal market, particularly as demand grows for scientifically sound and verifiable climate solutions.
