Singapore shines at 11th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards

Singapore emerged as the big winner at the 11th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA), held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. The city-state’s organisations dominated the honours, collectively securing 16 awards across key categories, reaffirming Singapore’s leadership in sustainability reporting and corporate transparency in Asia.

Organised by CSRWorks International, ASRA is the region’s most prestigious recognition for excellence in sustainability reporting. The 2025 edition brought together leading corporations, investors, policymakers, and sustainability professionals from across Asia for a night that celebrated innovation, integrity, and accountability in corporate reporting.

Among the standout achievers, Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) emerged as the top-winning company, taking home five awards (One platinum, three silver and one bronze), including titles for Asia’s Best Diversity Reporting, Asia’s best Community Impact Reporting, Asia’s Best Sustainability Report (GovernanceAsia’s best Sustainability Report (large company) and Asia’s Best Climate Reporting.

“The ASRA winners are setting global benchmarks for sustainability transparency and leadership,” said Rajesh Chhabara, Founder and Managing Director of CSRWorks International.

A defining feature of this year’s ceremony was the introduction of the Platinum Award, ASRA’s highest distinction, created to recognise best-in-class sustainability reports that demonstrate exceptional depth, innovation, and alignment with global frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, and TCFD. “We now have 4 categories (platinum, gold, silver, and bronze) given that there is so much competition and everyone doing so well,” said Chhabara.

The awards recognised achievements across 17 categories, spanning key areas such as materiality assessment, stakeholder inclusiveness, biodiversity, supply chain responsibility, and climate impact reporting. Companies from Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, and Hong Kong also earned top honours, reflecting the growing commitment to sustainability reporting across the region.

The winners for Asia Integrated Reporting Awards (AIRA) was announced parallelly in which the Philippines led the winners’ circle, with organisations from the country earning four awards, followed by strong performances from Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

The 2025 ceremony featured distinguished speakers and special guests, reinforcing ASRA and AIRA’s growing influence as the region’s foremost platforms for sustainability leadership.

Dr. Robin Hodess, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) said, “Today, we’re celebrating more than just sustainability reports — we’re recognising resilience, action, and maturity in corporate accountability. Nearly 80% of large companies now publish sustainability reports, according to KPMG. The Singapore government emphasises that double materiality is what truly matters.”

He added, “Since 2022, GRI and the ISSB have been working together to align and optimise how both standards can be applied jointly — through coordinated fundraising, capacity building, and reducing reporting fatigue. Ultimately, impact reporting and performance reporting are complementary and mutually reinforcing.”

British High Commissioner Nik Mehta congratulated the ASRA finalists, emphasising that sustainability reporting is driving real, measurable change across Asia. He highlighted the UK’s ongoing support for climate finance initiatives and its active engagement in developing robust carbon markets.
