Tanmiah Food Company, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading vertically integrated poultry and food producers, has signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Schneider Electric, Strataphy and Kayes Arabia to advance its decarbonisation strategy and boost energy efficiency across its operations.
The agreements were formalised at the inaugural Saudi Agri-Food Tech Alliance (SAFTA) Forum, held at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) headquarters in Riyadh. The event took place under the patronage of Vice Minister Mansour Almushaiti and was attended by senior officials, including Dr Abdulaziz Al Malik, Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation.
During the forum, Tanmiah’s Chief Strategy Officer, Abbas Khan, showcased the company’s latest innovations, highlighting the use of IoT and artificial intelligence across logistics and farming, as well as successful trials of locally grown alternative feed to reduce dependence on imports.
The partnership with Schneider Electric will see Tanmiah develop a full carbon inventory assessment and establish measurable emission-reduction targets under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), including guidance for forest, land and agriculture sectors. The collaboration will also support supply-chain decarbonisation by engaging suppliers in training and implementation programmes.
Tanmiah’s agreement with Saudi start-up Strataphy will introduce geothermal cooling systems at its Shaqrah facility—set to become the region’s first geothermal-cooled poultry operation. Delivered under Strataphy’s Cooling as a Service (CaaS) model, the system is expected to provide a scalable, low-carbon solution for poultry production.
A third partnership with Kayes Arabia focuses on converting diesel-powered farm and plant equipment to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) systems, aiming to cut emissions, improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
“This represents a defining moment in Tanmiah’s sustainability journey,” said CEO Zulfiqar Hamadani. “We are uniting technology, innovation and strategic collaboration to turn climate ambitions into real and measurable outcomes, supporting Vision 2030 and contributing to a cleaner, more efficient food production ecosystem.”
With these initiatives, Tanmiah underscores its commitment to sustainable food production and aligns itself closely with Saudi Arabia’s wider environmental and energy-transition goals.
