The EFRAG General Assembly has appointed Kristian Koktvedgaard as Acting Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board (EFRAG SRB) with immediate effect, following a formal recommendation from the EFRAG Administrative Board.
Koktvedgaard, who has served as a member of the EFRAG SRB since its inception, brings extensive international standard-setting experience to the role.
He will lead the board during the interim period until the European Commission, in consultation with the European Parliament and the Council, nominates a permanent EFRAG SRB Chair for formal appointment by the EFRAG General Assembly.
Key operational objectives and structural highlights include:
- Board continuity: Ensuring uninterrupted operations and maintaining standard-setting timelines across European sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Regulatory deliverables: Overseeing the timely completion and delivery of technical advice on the draft ESRS 40a standard to the European Commission.
- Leadership transition: Succeeding Kerstin Lopatta, who served in key leadership positions on the EFRAG SRB since 2022 and contributed significantly to the development of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
EFRAG expressed its gratitude to Lopatta for her service and commitment to advancing corporate sustainability reporting across the European Union.
