Anthesis appoints April LaCroix as Global Head of Strategy to push commercial sustainability value

Sustainability activation consultancy Anthesis has announced the appointment of April LaCroix as its new Global Head of Strategy. Operating from Chicago, LaCroix brings more than two decades of corporate experience specialising in guiding multinational organisations through complex transitions, spanning environmental, social, and governance (ESG) alignment, digital transformation, and operating model redesign.

LaCroix’s professional background combines internal corporate sustainability leadership with external management consultancy. Her core expertise centres on helping corporations optimise bottom-line financial performance through sustainable practices, alongside designing the internal capabilities, performance governance systems, and executive alignment necessary to execute operational shifts.

LaCroix initiated her career at modular flooring manufacturer Interface, Inc., contributing to the sustainability strategy of an early pioneer in industrial circular economics. She subsequently transitioned to professional services firm Accenture as a Director, where she partnered with more than 20 Fortune 500 corporations to unlock sustainability value and served as a strategic advisor within the Office of the CEO.

This dual background positions her to bridge corporate strategy with practical execution, offering a clear perspective on the metrics that drive sustainable performance in commercial operations.

Matthew Bell, Chief Executive Officer of Anthesis, commented on the evolution of corporate sustainability demands, stating: “The market is moving beyond corporate strategy models that aren’t able to adapt to the dynamic challenges businesses face today. Companies are looking for new ways to drive growth, resilience, and improve their performance, and April brings a rare combination of strategy, transformation, and execution experience to help them do that.”

The appointment arrives as the sustainability advisory sector transitions toward helping organisations identify novel sources of capital value, integrate sustainability parameters into day-to-day corporate decision-making, and structurally realign operations to capture market opportunities at scale.

LaCroix’s addition is intended to strengthen Anthesis’ capacity to assist clients with linking sustainability initiatives directly to alternative business models and large-scale financial performance.

Academically and professionally recognised in her field, LaCroix is the co-author of Rethinking Operating Models, which received the 2025 NYC Big Book Award. She holds an MBA and a Master of Science in Business and Sustainability from the University of Michigan, as well as a Master of Arts in Environmental Policy from the University of Toronto, which she completed as a Fulbright Scholar.

The strategic appointment underscores Anthesis’ corporate position that sustainable performance is achieved when environmental and social criteria are converted into primary drivers of enterprise-wide value creation and smarter corporate growth.
