Asian AI sustainability enterprise ASUENE has finalised its acquisition of Secaro, a UK-based supply chain carbon management platform. The transaction marks ASUENE’s eighth acquisition to date and significantly fortifies its presence in European and North American markets as global regulatory pressure mounts on manufacturers to disclose supply chain emissions.
The integration brings Secaro’s specialised data collection, analytics, and supplier decarbonisation programmes into ASUENE’s integrated sustainability platform. Secaro currently serves an extensive network of more than 8,000 companies across 90 countries, supporting global manufacturing leaders including Toyota, Honda, and General Motors.
The deal comes at a pivotal moment for international sustainability compliance. European enterprises are already submitting data under the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, with an expanded wave of companies set to follow from 2028. In the UK, mandatory reporting aligned with International Sustainability Standards Board guidelines is proposed for listed firms by 2027. Because Scope 3 emissions typically account for the largest proportion of a business’s total carbon footprint, supply chain visibility has become a critical operational priority.
Kohei Nishiwada, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ASUENE, noted that the acquisition builds upon a business alliance established between the two firms in July 2025.
“Secaro serves the supply chains of some of the world’s largest manufacturers, including super major players in automotive and pharmaceuticals,” said Nishiwada. “By joining forces, we’ll deliver even greater value to those customers, connecting supply chain data across the US, Europe, Japan, and Asia, strengthening our product-level and LCA capabilities, and helping companies throughout the supply chain cut both energy costs and
emissions.”
Toby Newman, Chief Executive Officer of Secaro, welcomed the move as a strategic leap forward for supplier engagement on a global scale.
“Joining ASUENE is an exciting new chapter for Secaro,” Newman stated. “By combining Secaro’s deep expertise in supplier engagement with ASUENE’s technology, AI capabilities, and international reach, we’ll be able to innovate faster, deliver even greater value to our customers, and help accelerate decarbonisation at global scale.”
The unified entity aims to solidify its position as the market leader in supply chain sustainability management for the manufacturing sector worldwide.
