Centurion Corporation Limited has launched its inaugural sustainability notes, securing SGD 200 million in five-year senior unsecured notes due 1 September 2031.
The transaction marks the first sustainability notes issuance dedicated to the purpose-built accommodation sector in Singapore. It also represents the company’s largest and longest-dated debt issuance to date. Strong demand from institutional and private bank investors led to the offering being oversubscribed and subsequently upsized.
The notes carry a fixed annual coupon of 4.00 per cent, payable semi-annually in arrears, and are issued under Centurion’s SGD 750 million Multicurrency Debt Issuance Programme. Scheduled for issue on 1 September 2026 and listing on the Singapore Exchange (SGX-ST) on 2 September 2026, the transaction saw DBS Bank serve as sole lead manager, bookrunner, and sustainable finance adviser.
Net proceeds will fund or refinance eligible green and social projects across Centurion’s portfolio. Target categories include green-certified buildings, renewable energy installations, energy efficiency upgrades, climate resilience measures, affordable housing solutions, and infrastructure supporting resident well-being.
The issuance operates under Centurion’s Sustainability Financing Framework established in August 2026. Moody’s Ratings independently evaluated the framework, assigning it a Sustainability Quality Score of SQS2 (“Very good”) and confirming alignment with international sustainable finance standards while rating the company’s project selection process as best practice.
Clifford Lee, Global Head of Investment Banking at DBS, stated: “This landmark issuance is a testament to the growing maturity of Singapore’s sustainable finance ecosystem. Purpose-built accommodation is more than real estate – it is essential social infrastructure that supports communities, including workers and students. Centurion’s inaugural sustainability notes issuance sets an important precedent for how sustainable finance can support more inclusive and resilient urban development. We are proud to have partnered Centurion on its Framework and inaugural sustainability notes.”
Kong Chee Min, Chief Executive Officer of Centurion Corporation, added: “This is our first issuance under the Framework. It gives us a further source of capital as we grow and enhance our portfolio, and links that capital to the standards of the accommodation we build and operate. We have set targets for 2030 to cut energy and water intensity across our facilities and to reduce embodied and operational emissions in the assets we develop and manage. Sustainability has been a focus for the Group for some years, in how we design and build our assets and in how we care for our residents.”
