DBS has announced that Kelvin Wong will assume the role of Chief Sustainability Officer on 11 May, succeeding Helge Muenkel, who is departing the bank to relocate abroad. Wong, who joined the firm in 2016, currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure within the Institutional Banking Group.
With a career spanning over two decades, Wong brings extensive expertise in project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and policy regulation, having previously held senior roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Standard Chartered Bank. He also serves on the International Energy Agency Finance Industry Advisory Board.
The appointment comes at a time when the bank is doubling down on its commitment to resilient, sustainable systems.
“At DBS, our conviction is that sustainability is a core driver of long-term value,” said Tan Su Shan, CEO of DBS. “When approached pragmatically, it strengthens competitiveness, improves lives and builds resilience for the future. With over 20 years of experience in energy, policy regulation and financing, Kelvin is well placed to advance DBS’ sustainability agenda with our clients and communities.”
