ISSB appoints outgoing Vice-Chair and Board Member as senior advisers

The IFRS Foundation Trustees have appointed International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Vice-Chair Jingdong Hua and board member Hiroshi Komori as Senior Advisers to ISSB Chair Emmanuel Faber following the conclusion of their terms on 30 September 2026.

In these unpaid advisory roles, both former board members will provide strategic counsel and assist with ongoing global stakeholder engagement as the organisation continues to roll out its corporate sustainability reporting frameworks.

The appointments come as the Trustees’ Nominating Committee enters the final stages of its review process for ISSB member reappointments, following the completion of the Foundation’s five-year operating and financing plan and senior leadership succession arrangements.

Other ISSB board members whose initial terms concluded on 30 September 2026 will remain in their positions while the reappointment process is finalised. The IFRS Foundation noted that a further announcement regarding board appointments will be issued shortly.

Emmanuel Faber, Chair of the ISSB, stated that the outgoing board members played a critical role in establishing the global baseline for corporate sustainability disclosures, noting that their ongoing advisory support will maintain momentum across key regulatory markets.
