Lenovo and Schneider Electric partner to accelerate IT channel decarbonisation

Lenovo has announced that energy management leader Schneider Electric has joined its global Lenovo 360 Circle sustainability community as a strategic ally. The collaboration aims to provide IT channel partners with specialized carbon management tools and expert advisory support to accelerate Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reductions.

Through the partnership, Schneider Electric introduces its “Decarbonization Champion” initiative to the Lenovo 360 Circle ecosystem, which currently connects over 861 channel partners across 68 international markets.

Eligible channel partners gain access to a structured four-stage decarbonisation framework combining educational modules, emissions measurement tools, site audits, and tailored strategic roadmaps developed alongside Schneider Electric Advisory Services specialists.

Key elements of the initiative and ecosystem framework include:

  • Four-stage pathway: Guides partners through educational coursework via the Schneider Electric Sustainability School, baseline Scope 1 and 2 emissions measurement, remote site audits, and actionable reduction planning.
  • Continuous improvement cycle: Establishes ongoing tracking mechanisms to evaluate environmental progress over time, offering eligible solution rebates for partners implementing recommended decarbonisation technologies.
  • Supply chain transparency: Addresses growing corporate procurement demands, helping channel participants satisfy environmental criteria in formal RFPs and commercial vendor assessments.
  • Industry benchmarking: Combines Lenovo 360 Circle’s ClimateChoice benchmarking with Schneider Electric’s advisory track record, which previously assisted its top 1,000 suppliers in achieving a 56 per cent operational emissions reduction between 2021 and 2025.

Paul Tyrer, Vice President of Global AI Enterprise and Partner Ecosystem at Schneider Electric, stated that providing practical roadmaps and carbon accounting tools helps partners manage Scope 1 and 2 footprints while addressing broader Scope 3 supply chain challenges.

Virginie le Barbu, Executive Director of Global Sustainability for International Markets at Lenovo, added that integrating technical decarbonisation capabilities into the partner network enables channel businesses to meet evolving sustainability requirements and maintain market competitiveness.
