Global smart energy solution provider CHINT and renewable supplier Octopus Energy have signed two Memoranda of Cooperation (MoCs) to expand collaboration across clean energy infrastructure and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) technology.
The partnership establishes a framework to accelerate international decarbonisation through technological innovation, hardware integration, and digital grid management.
Under the initial agreement, CHINT subsidiaries—including Astronergy Europe, CHINT Power Systems Poland, and CHINT Solar Poland—will collaborate with Octopus Energy on European renewable energy projects. CHINT will supply clean energy equipment comprising photovoltaic (PV) modules, inverters, battery storage systems (BESS), transformers, smart meters, cables, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Subject to final project contracts, CHINT will also provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services.
The second agreement between Chint Anneng Digital Power and Octopus Energy Group focuses on developing Virtual Power Plant infrastructure within mainland China.
The companies will assess opportunities across distributed energy resource aggregation, demand response, and intelligent management platforms. By combining CHINT Anneng’s position in the Chinese market with Octopus Energy’s digital platform expertise, the venture aims to pilot innovative business models to support grid flexibility and resilience.
Dr Chuan Lu, Director of CHINT Group and Chairman of CHINT Green Energy, highlighted the combined strengths of the partnership.

The signatories confirmed that the agreements will serve as a foundation for broader cooperation across infrastructure delivery, digital energy services, and regional grid modernisation initiatives globally.
