Green Project acquires Emitwise to boost scope 3 decarbonisation tools

Emitwise is now part of Green Project, bringing you expanded tools, faster compliance, and even stronger support.

Green Project Technologies, a platform for carbon accounting and supply chain decarbonisation, has announced the acquisition of Emitwise’s software solution. The move significantly enhances Green Project’s Scope 3 offerings by integrating automated Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) capabilities and advanced supplier engagement tools.

As part of the agreement, Emitwise co-founders Ben Peddie (Chief Technology Officer) and Eduardo Gomez (Chief Product Officer) will join Green Project to lead product integration and development efforts. In addition, a number of Emitwise staff from the commercial, customer success, and engineering teams will transition to Green Project.

Emitwise, known for its AI- and machine learning-powered platform, provides global procurement teams with full visibility across supply chains. The platform enables engagement with thousands of suppliers, facilitates PCF generation, and supports the setting of SBTi-aligned Net Zero targets. Emitwise has been a prominent player in supplier mobilisation through partnerships with initiatives such as the Scope 3 Peer Group and SME Climate Hub.

By combining Emitwise’s supplier-focused technology with Green Project’s audit-grade carbon accounting tools and ACT’s global digital renewable energy procurement marketplace, act50, the partnership aims to provide corporates with a comprehensive, integrated solution for supply chain decarbonisation.

Sam Stark, Chief Executive Officer at Green Project Technologies, said: “Emitwise and Green Project’s market offerings could not be matched better. Joining Emitwise’s automated, broad supplier offerings with Green Project’s audit-grade accounting, ACT’s global reach, and an existing suite of decarbonisation products undeniably positions us as the solution to beat for supply chains.”

Jop Gerritsen, Managing Director of ACT Digital, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome the talented Emitwise team to Green Project and ACT. Their expertise will help drive our next chapter of climate innovation.”

Following ACT’s acquisition of Green Project in 2023, this latest move represents a key milestone in the company’s ambition to become a fully integrated decarbonisation partner for corporates at all stages of climate maturity.
