ISS STOXX acquires Sust Global to bolster geospatial risk capabilities

ISS Sustainability Solutions, the sustainable investment arm of ISS STOXX, has announced the acquisition of Sust Global, a provider of geospatial risk modelling and analytics aimed at helping institutional investors, insurers, and other clients assess asset-level climate and nature-related risks.

Founded in 2020, Sust Global uses a proprietary geospatial AI engine to generate high-resolution insights into physical risks across various datasets. Its platform integrates multimodal data, builds domain-specific predictive models, and supports client workflows through a range of delivery formats including visual analytics tools, regulatory reporting solutions, data exports, APIs, and customised products.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen ISS Sustainability Solutions’ capabilities in mapping climate and nature-related risks to corporate and investment portfolios.

“Institutional investors’ need for geospatial data and enhanced physical risk analytics is growing rapidly, and we are pleased to address that demand through this transaction,” said Till Jung, Head of Sustainability Business at ISS STOXX. “Sust Global’s AI-powered physical risk models complement our asset-level data, enabling more effective solutions for our clients.”

Sust Global’s analytics help financial institutions identify and quantify location-specific risks, supporting functions such as risk management, due diligence, regulatory compliance, and investor engagement.

Josh Gilbert, co-founder and CEO of Sust Global, commented: “Our team is excited to join ISS Sustainability Solutions and further its mission to deliver advanced tools for monitoring geospatial risks across investment portfolios.”
