Arcadis and Sweep forge global alliance to bridge the gap between sustainability data and operations

Arcadis, the global design and engineering consultancy, has announced a strategic partnership with Sweep, a sustainability intelligence platform, to transform how large-scale organisations manage and utilise environmental data. The collaboration aims to help enterprises move beyond mere compliance to using sustainability insights as a core driver for operational and capital investment decisions.

As global reporting requirements expand and face heightened scrutiny, many organisations—particularly in asset-intensive sectors like energy, aviation, and manufacturing—continue to struggle with fragmented data. The partnership is designed to treat sustainability data with the same discipline as financial metrics, embedding it into the day-to-day management of complex assets and supply chains.

The partnership combines Sweep’s specialised SaaS platform for data structuring with Arcadis’ extensive technical and digital advisory expertise. This integrated approach supports clients across several critical areas:

  • Data quality & compliance: Improving the integrity of disclosures to meet evolving international standards.
  • Capital investment planning: Using climate and resource data to inform long-term spending on infrastructure and assets.
  • Operational decarbonisation: Applying data-driven strategies to net-zero planning, biodiversity, and product stewardship.

The alliance arrives at a time of surging demand for integrated sustainability solutions in the United States, where companies are increasingly looking for support that extends beyond initial software deployment to include deep technical execution.

“In sectors with complex assets, the issue is rarely a lack of data—it’s fragmentation,” said Josh Nothwang, Global Solutions Director for Integrated Sustainability & Compliance at Arcadis. “Many organisations have built the capability to report, but far fewer are using that data to run the business. We still see key decisions on assets and capital being made alongside that data, not informed by it. Closing that gap is where the real value sits.”

Rachel Delacour, CEO and Co-founder of Sweep, emphasised that the goal is to build resilience. “Arcadis brings deep advisory and operational expertise in helping companies deliver complex sustainability initiatives,” she said. “Together, we can help enterprises build stronger foundations for reporting, decision-making, and long-term business value.”

This partnership further expands Arcadis’ network of digital and sustainability collaborations. It follows previous agreements with Jupiter Intelligence for climate risk analytics and CoolPlanet for industrial decarbonisation. By aligning with Sweep, Arcadis strengthens its “Integrated Sustainability & Compliance” offering, positioning itself to support global enterprises as they navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
