Achilles completes acquisition of Australian contractor management firm Cm3

Supply chain risk management and assurance provider Achilles has completed its acquisition of Cm3, an Australian contractor management and compliance software company, from the Blackwoods Group, a subsidiary of Wesfarmers’ Bunnings division.

The transaction closed following formal regulatory approval from Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB). The acquisition expands Achilles’ operational footprint across Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

Cm3 has operated across Australia and New Zealand for over 18 years, providing workplace health and safety assessment services, contractor compliance tracking, and operational risk management. Its software platform and local team will integrate into Achilles’ global portfolio, which spans supplier intelligence, ESG assurance, and enterprise compliance management.

Key operational, commercial, and strategic aspects of the transaction include:

  • Global scale and network: The combined entity serves over 1,000 enterprise buying organisations alongside hundreds of thousands of registered suppliers and contractors globally.
  • Technology integration: Achilles plans to deploy its proprietary Smart Achilles AI framework across Cm3’s infrastructure to automate compliance workflows and enhance risk analytics.
  • Operational continuity: Cm3 will retain its existing brand name, leadership teams, platform services, and customer support networks within the Australian market.
  • Private equity support: The transaction marks an international expansion milestone supported by mid-market private equity firm Bridgepoint, which acquired majority ownership of Achilles in 2021.

Sebastien Roussotte, Chief Executive Officer of Achilles, stated that integrating Cm3’s local expertise and customer relationships with Achilles’ global network expands the value proposition for regional supply chain and safety managers.

Matt Legg, Partner at Bridgepoint, added that the acquisition aligns with Achilles’ strategy to scale its international footprint and solidify its market position across Asia-Pacific supply chain risk management sectors.
