Lenovo has announced that global energy technology provider Schneider Electric has joined its Lenovo 360 Circle sustainability community as a strategic ally to provide decarbonisation tools and expert advisory services to IT channel partners.
Through Schneider Electric’s Decarbonization Champion initiative, eligible community members will gain access to carbon management software and hands-on support from advisory specialists. The programme provides partners with structured guidance to measure Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, identify reduction opportunities, and formulate tailored decarbonisation roadmaps.
Paul Tyrer, Vice President of Global AI Enterprise and Partner Ecosystem at Schneider Electric, stated that the initiative aims to build momentum in addressing broader Scope 3 supply chain challenges by establishing practical, partner-specific frameworks to turn climate ambitions into measurable progress.
The collaboration introduces a four-stage pathway designed for continuous measurement and improvement:
- Education: Developing sustainability expertise through the Schneider Electric Sustainability School and Lenovo 360 Learning Paths.
- Impact measurement: Accessing carbon management software to establish emissions baselines, earning Decarbonization Champion status upon completion.
- Strategy formulation: Participating in remote site audits and strategy workshops alongside Schneider Electric specialists to build customized decarbonisation plans.
- Execution: Implementing priority reduction initiatives, with access to financial rebate options for qualifying Schneider Electric equipment deployments.
Virginie le Barbu, Executive Director of Global Sustainability for International Markets at Lenovo, noted that sustainability performance is increasingly dictating market access, customer preference, and commercial growth across the IT sector.
The partnership leverages Lenovo 360 Circle’s community network—comprising over 861 partners across 68 markets—alongside Schneider Electric’s advisory experience, which previously supported its top 1,000 suppliers in achieving a 56 per cent reduction in operational emissions between 2021 and 2025. Both organisations were named Champions in Omdia’s Sustainable Ecosystems Leadership Matrix 2026.
