Xpansiv secures major investment led by Verdane to drive global expansion and acquisitions

Xpansiv, an infrastructure provider for global energy transition markets, has announced a strategic partnership with European growth investment firm Verdane, which is leading a major capital raise for the company.

The funding will support Xpansiv’s strategic acquisition plans, accelerating its expansion into new geographic markets, asset classes, and product offerings.

Xpansiv operates registry, marketplace, and data infrastructure supporting global environmental commodity markets, connecting utilities, corporations, and traders across verified carbon credits, clean power, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and clean fuel credits. The platform’s artificial intelligence capabilities aim to streamline verification processes, improve auditability, and reduce administrative costs.

Melanie Campbell, Principal at Verdane, stated that Xpansiv occupies a critical position in market infrastructure as reporting and compliance obligations expand globally, adding that the firm looks forward to supporting Xpansiv’s scale to meet rising market demand.

John Melby, Chief Executive Officer of Xpansiv, noted that the investment will allow the firm to accelerate the acquisition of next-generation solutions to complement its internal product development.

Xpansiv’s proprietary registries support over 320 gigawatts of renewable generation capacity registered across more than 60 countries, representing approximately four per cent of total global electricity generation and seven per cent of global renewable energy generation. In 2025, approximately 28 per cent of RECs issued globally were managed on the company’s registry network.

The investment follows a series of strategic acquisitions by Xpansiv over the past four years, including energy registry infrastructure firm APX, market execution provider Evolution Markets, and UK-based I-REC(E) registry operator Evident.
