Enterprise carbon and energy management platform Gravity has announced the launch of Gravity Agent, a new artificial intelligence tool designed to assist corporate sustainability and energy teams with data processing, disclosure drafting, and efficiency analysis.
The system comes pre-configured with more than 85 operational skills developed alongside Gravity’s climate strategists and energy specialists. During preliminary pilot testing, client organisations reported reductions of 70% or more in the time required to migrate data, compile regulatory disclosures, and identify energy cost-saving opportunities.
Unlike single-function automation tools that focus solely on isolated tasks such as basic spreadsheet cleaning, Gravity Agent leverages an API-first platform architecture. This structure allows the system to perform complex, multi-step operations within the software that typically require manual user input.
Ted Kornish, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Gravity, noted that a functional AI agent must be capable of handling diverse tasks autonomously — determining necessary operational steps, executing actions, and consulting human operators primarily for review and final approval.
The tool operates in the background, executing multiple tasks simultaneously while storing institutional memory to streamline recurring workflows. Key launch capabilities include:
- Data Migration: Transferring historical carbon and energy data from spreadsheets or legacy systems.
- Opportunity Identification: Analysing energy consumption patterns to highlight cost-reduction opportunities.
- Disclosure Drafting: Assisting in the preparation of regulatory compliance and ESG reporting documents.
- Custom Skill Development: Enabling users to build tailored workflow instructions with support from climate strategists.
Given the audit requirements surrounding corporate emissions data, Gravity Agent incorporates strict human-in-the-loop governance. Every operational modification requires human review and approval, with all actions recorded to maintain an audit trail.
Furthermore, customer data is excluded from model training routines. All greenhouse gas calculations continue to run through Gravity’s deterministic calculation engine to ensure reproducible results for third-party auditors.
Gravity has also integrated its proprietary AI emissions accounting methodology to track the carbon footprint generated by the agent itself, allowing client organisations to account for emissions tied to their enterprise AI usage. The company plans to expand the agent’s skill library in the coming months to further enhance self-serve onboarding.
