The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has published Vietnamese translations of its full suite of sustainability disclosure standards, making the international reporting framework accessible in the local language.
While initial Vietnamese translations were introduced in 2017, the newly published collection provides access to the updated GRI Universal Standards, revised Topic Standards—including Biodiversity, Climate Change, and Energy—and all released GRI Sector Standards.
The publication aims to help Vietnamese enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), evaluate, manage, and disclose operational impacts on the economy, environment, and society in alignment with international standards. Through targeted engagement programmes, technical guidance, and capacity-building workshops, the initiative supports local businesses responding to growing disclosure requirements from international buyers, institutional investors, and global sustainable finance providers.
Key features and operational impacts of the updated translation include:
- Comprehensive framework access: Complete coverage across Universal Standards, new environmental Topic Standards, and targeted Sector Standards in Vietnamese.
- Value chain & SME support: Focused training and technical assistance to build ESG reporting capabilities among domestic SMEs and strengthen value chain resilience.
- Capital & market alignment: Enhanced capacity for Vietnamese exporters and commercial entities to deliver benchmarked impact disclosures required by foreign markets and international financial institutions.
