About the Role

CSRWorks International is seeking a commercially driven and consultative Business Development Manager to help accelerate the firm’s growth across its sustainability advisory, assurance, training, and thought leadership services.

This role is suited for a high-performing B2B business development professional who is confident engaging senior decision-makers, building trusted client relationships, identifying commercial opportunities, and converting them into revenue. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding CSRWorks’ client base, growing strategic accounts, and positioning the firm’s specialist sustainability services in Singapore and international markets.

This is a hands-on role for someone who combines a strong commercial instinct with a polished, professional approach and the ability to work closely with internal subject matter experts to shape client-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Revenue Growth

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across target sectors and markets
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Drive the full business development cycle, from prospecting and lead qualification through to proposal submission, negotiation, and closure
  • Develop and implement account growth strategies for both new and existing clients
  • Proactively identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across CSRWorks’ service lines

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers, including sustainability, procurement, compliance, finance, human resources, and business leaders
  • Lead client discussions to understand needs, priorities, and pain points, and translate these into commercially viable opportunities
  • Represent CSRWorks professionally in client meetings, networking engagements, webinars, and other business development interactions
  • Maintain strong follow-through with prospects and clients to build long-term relationships and support repeat business

Solutioning and Proposal Development

  • Work closely with internal technical teams to shape tailored, high-quality client solutions
  • Lead or support the development of proposals, scopes of work, presentations, and commercial submissions
  • Ensure proposals are strategically positioned, commercially sound, and aligned with client needs
  • Support contract discussions and commercial negotiations in coordination with internal stakeholders

Service Line Promotion and Market Positioning

  • Position and promote CSRWorks’ services across areas including sustainability advisory, sustainability reporting, climate and carbon services, sustainability ratings, human rights, assurance and verification, and training
  • Stay informed on market trends, client needs, sustainability developments, and relevant reporting or rating frameworks to support business development conversations
  • Contribute market intelligence and client feedback to help refine service positioning and growth priorities

Internal Collaboration and Sales Discipline

  • Work closely with leadership, subject matter experts, and marketing colleagues to support coordinated business development efforts
  • Maintain accurate opportunity records, pipeline updates, and sales activity tracking
  • Provide regular reporting and forecasting on pipeline status, business development activity, and revenue progress
  • Contribute to a disciplined, professional, and commercially focused business development culture

Requirements

  • Experience in a consulting, advisory, professional services, training, assurance, or certification-related business
  • Familiarity with consultative selling and solution-led business development
  • Exposure to sustainability-related services, including areas such as sustainability reporting, climate, ratings, supply chain sustainability, human rights, assurance, or training
  • Experience working across regional or international markets
  • Existing networks or relationships within relevant corporate sectors would be an advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sustainability, Communications, or a related field
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition in a B2B environment
  • Strong track record of generating revenue and closing new business
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives and business leaders
  • Demonstrated experience in proposal development, commercial discussions, and client-facing presentations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to understand client needs, shape solutions, and work effectively with internal experts
  • Self-motivated, commercially minded, and able to work independently with strong ownership
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented environment

Preferred / Advantageous

  • Experience in a consulting, advisory, professional services, training, assurance, or certification-related business
