Dexter Galvin appointed Climate Ambassador at EcoVadis

EcoVadis, a leading sustainability intelligence platform focused on global supply chains, has announced the appointment of Dexter Galvin as its new Climate Ambassador. Galvin, a recognised expert in corporate climate action with over 16 years of experience, will spearhead efforts to accelerate supply chain decarbonisation, deepen strategic partnerships, and represent EcoVadis in key climate forums.

His appointment comes at a pivotal time for corporate sustainability, with 51% of companies still lagging behind their 2030 Scope 3 emissions reduction targets. Galvin’s role will be central in addressing these challenges, particularly through EcoVadis’s newly launched Carbon Data Network (CDN) – a major initiative designed to tackle the widespread issue of unreliable and inconsistent emissions data.

The CDN enables access to verified primary carbon data from over 150,000 suppliers, providing companies with the tools needed to measure and reduce emissions across complex value chains. By improving data accuracy and transparency, the network aims to significantly accelerate Scope 3 decarbonisation progress.

Pierre-François Thaler, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of EcoVadis, said: “Unlocking the next generation of Scope 3 emissions reduction requires a new level of carbon data reliability that does not exist in the market today. Dexter’s experience and expertise will be instrumental as we continue on our mission to decarbonise supply chains faster.”

Galvin previously served as Chief Commercial and Partnerships Officer at CDP, where he was instrumental in building the organisation’s flagship supply chain programme. Under his leadership, the programme expanded to include more than 340 major buyers and over 20,000 suppliers globally, pushing environmental accountability and emissions disclosure into the core of business operations.

Speaking on his new role, Galvin said: “EcoVadis provides organisations access to the highest quality primary carbon data available on the market today, and plays a pivotal role in driving meaningful action on reducing emissions and building resilience across the global supply chain. This role is an incredible opportunity to work alongside the smartest minds in business sustainability and make an exponential impact at scale.”
