The GRI Academy, a global training provider for sustainability reporting, has expanded its educational portfolio with the addition of five new courses focused on emerging trends in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and corporate transparency. The expanded curriculum marks a strategic effort to broaden the platform’s focus beyond technical reporting frameworks and support overall professional career development within the sustainability sector.
The newly introduced online courses cover key operational areas, including environmental disclosure alignment through GRI-CDP Interoperability and the practical integration of ESG factors into enterprise risk management. Additional modules focus on nature-related impacts and dependencies aligned with Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures guidance, value-chain Scope 3 emissions mapping, and the mechanics of digital sustainability reporting using structured taxonomies such as GRI, IFRS, and ESRS.
Addressing the curriculum expansion, Paul Broekhof, Director of Education at GRI, noted that sustainability professionals require broader competencies beyond core reporting technicalities to advance their careers. He highlighted that expanding the course catalogue provides practical learning across diverse career pathways, aiding decision-making and professional confidence in a rapidly evolving market.
The five self-paced courses are delivered online in English, require no prerequisite qualifications, and award a certificate of completion upon finishing. These additions complement GRI’s existing Professional Certification Programmes, which are accessible through fully digital platforms or via its global network of Certified Training Partners.
