Verde Resources and Isometric partner to transform roads into certified carbon sinks

VERDE I ISOMETRIC

Verde Resources Inc. has announced a strategic collaboration with carbon removal certifier Isometric to accelerate the commercialisation of BioAsphalt™, a technology designed to turn road infrastructure into measurable carbon storage. The partnership aims to align Verde’s engineered biochar with Isometric’s rigorous scientific protocols, ensuring that every credit generated represents a verified ton of CO2 removed from the atmosphere.

The collaboration focuses on integrating biochar—a carbon-rich material—into asphalt, creating a durable medium where carbon remains locked for periods ranging from 200 to over 1,000 years. By utilising existing road networks, Verde seeks to create a scalable carbon removal model that can be monitored, audited, and financed globally.

“Biochar is one of the most scalable carbon removal pathways, and built materials like asphalt offer an ideal long-term storage medium,” said David Armstrong, Partnerships Manager at Isometric. “We’re looking forward to issuing high-quality biochar credits for Verde as they work to turn asphalt into a climate solution.”

As part of the certification process, Verde’s US supply partner, Biochar Solutions LLC, recently underwent an audit of its California production facility. Simultaneously, Verde’s proprietary BioFraction™ facility in Borneo is undergoing the same verification process. These steps are intended to establish a fully traceable and verified supply chain for the engineered biochar used in infrastructure.

Isometric will utilise its AI-powered platform, Certify, to streamline data collection and automate carbon accounting. This technology is expected to bridge the gap between scientific durability requirements and the rapid commercial issuance of removal certificates.

The collaboration is expected to act as a catalyst for Verde’s commercial partnership with Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. By combining Isometric’s certification with Ergon’s distribution network—which spans 110 countries—Verde aims to scale BioAsphalt™ across North America before expanding globally.

“Partnering with Isometric is a defining step in ensuring that the carbon integrated into roads meets the highest standards of integrity, durability, and trust,” said Jack Wong, CEO of Verde Resources. “This collaboration bridges infrastructure and carbon markets in a way that is quantifiable, verifiable, and built to scale.”

Verde’s broader strategy includes licensing this “Net Zero infrastructure blueprint” globally, starting with Singapore. The model allows governments and private partners to deploy carbon-sequestering roads using existing asphalt ecosystems, providing a pathway to sustainability goals without requiring significant capital expenditure.
