Arcadis and Stok partner to accelerate data centre and real estate decarbonisation

Arcadis has announced a strategic partnership with sustainability and decarbonisation specialist Stok, aiming to strengthen its engineering and design capabilities for high-performance buildings.

The collaboration will focus on asset-intensive markets where decarbonisation decisions directly influence investment, with initial projects targeting the data centre and real estate sectors. The agreement combines Stok’s energy expertise with Arcadis’ advisory and technical delivery framework, building on the firm’s recent acquisition of the KUA Group.

The two firms are already working together on initiatives that include sustainability design guidelines for data centres and real estate portfolio decarbonisation strategies. The partnership is designed to assist clients in balancing the trade-offs between speed to market, energy demand, costs, and long-term asset value.

Josh Nothwang, Global Solutions Director at Arcadis, stated that clients are shifting from ambition to accountability, with decarbonisation now shaping core decisions on capital allocation and long-term risk.

Jacob Arlein, Chief Executive of Stok, added that translating ambitious goals into consistent portfolio outcomes requires deep integration across design, engineering, and delivery, noting that early lifecycle decisions are critical in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
