Supply chain rating platform EcoVadis has announced the expansion of its peer-to-peer Community platform, opening the network to all procurement organisations and suppliers globally, regardless of whether they have completed an EcoVadis assessment.
The initiative expands the platform into a broader collaborative network designed to allow procurement leaders and sustainability practitioners to share operational guidance, address regulatory hurdles, and tackle common supply chain challenges.
Prior to the open-access expansion, the EcoVadis Community experienced a 20% monthly global growth rate, generating over 800 peer-led technical discussions across key forums covering networking, product integration, and sustainability frameworks. Engagement spans key commercial markets—including the UK, US, Western Europe, India, and Brazil—across core sectors such as chemicals, industrial manufacturing, logistics, and retail.
The strategic shift leverages research on peer network efficacy. Studies published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) demonstrate that collective peer networks facilitate the adoption of new operational practices 30% to 50% faster than top-down corporate mandates.
Pierre-François Thaler, co-founder and co-Chief Executive Officer of EcoVadis, emphasised the necessity of shared industry standards.
“True sustainability cannot be forced; it has to be built together,” said Thaler. “By opening our community to all procurement organizations and suppliers anywhere in the world, we are removing the isolation companies often feel. We are making it easier to share practical advice and turn sustainability efforts into a real business advantage.”
The expanded platform provides open-access discussion forums and a centralized resource library featuring practical toolkits for buyers and suppliers. It also incorporates algorithmic search and recommendation features, enabling members to benchmark performance against global peers facing similar supply chain bottlenecks.
While general forums and educational webinars are accessible to the public, product-specific technical advisory features remain reserved for rated clients, with specialized collaborative spaces—such as CPO Roundtables—maintained under premium access tiers.
