EcoVadis partners with Google Cloud to deploy agentic AI across global operations

EcoVadis, the global leader in sustainability ratings, has announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to integrate “agentic AI” into its core operations. By deploying Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise platform, EcoVadis aims to scale its supply chain insights and enhance productivity across its entire workforce.

The partnership focuses on the development of both standardised and custom-made AI agents to automate routine tasks, allowing employees to focus on high-value sustainability analysis. Initial deployments will target high-impact business areas, including sales and HR support, as well as request-intake processes.

“When used responsibly, we see Generative AI as a cornerstone of our capacity to grow, scale and deliver on our company purpose,” said Frank Soetebeer, CTO of EcoVadis. “We particularly value Google Cloud’s vision of agentic AI and their willingness to help us innovate as a real technological partner.”

A key pillar of the collaboration is an extensive upskilling programme. While 89% of EcoVadis staff already use Gemini in Google Workspace, the new training, supported by Google Cloud, will enable employees to build their own agents using no-code or low-code tools.

EcoVadis emphasized that its approach remains grounded in human judgment and ethical principles. The company intends to use the technology as a “force multiplier” for global sustainability outcomes, ensuring that AI-driven insights are measured and purposeful while maintaining strict privacy and security standards.

Anthony Cirot, Vice President EMEA South at Google Cloud, described EcoVadis as a “pragmatic pioneer” in the field. “EcoVadis is truly a leader in fostering innovation and growth using AI,” Cirot added.
