Novata, the sustainability management platform for private markets, has announced a significant expansion of its Regulatory Navigator, including a new Premium tier designed to help organisations manage the growing complexity of global sustainability laws. The solution uses an AI-powered, expert-validated engine to help investors and companies determine exactly which regulations apply to their specific business profile.
As sustainability mandates become increasingly intricate across different jurisdictions, many firms struggle to identify their legal obligations. The Regulatory Navigator addresses this by using over 30 specific data points—including revenue, employee count, and jurisdiction—to pinpoint relevant requirements for each user.
“Regulatory requirements are no longer just a ‘reporting’ issue; they are a core business risk,” said Caitlin Pentifallo, Novata’s Head of Regulatory Strategy & Sustainability. “By combining real-time AI monitoring with our team’s sustainability expertise, we provide the clarity teams need to stop wondering which rules apply and start taking action.”
The solution is offered in two tiers. A free foundational version allows users to create a company profile and view country-specific requirements. The Premium tier introduces a comprehensive workflow solution featuring a centralised “Monitoring Hub,” a global heat map, and detailed “Regulation Cards” that provide specific timelines and criteria.
Crucially, the platform employs a “human-in-the-loop” approach. While AI is used to scan government registries and primary sources, every insight is reviewed by Novata’s expert team to ensure accuracy before reaching the client.
Beth Meyer, Novata’s Chief Legal Officer, noted that operationalising compliance is a major challenge for modern teams. “The Regulatory Navigator helps teams cut through that complexity by providing a clear, centralised view of what applies and when, so they can move forward with confidence and ease,” she said.
The Premium version also includes trend analysis capabilities and organisational structure visualisations, enabling parent companies and General Partners to monitor regulatory exposure across entire portfolios or complex supply chains.
