EcoVadis and Workiva partner to tackle Scope 3 emissions with audit-ready data

EcoVadis, the global leader in sustainability supply chain ratings, and Workiva Inc., an AI-powered platform for regulatory disclosure, have announced a strategic partnership to integrate primary supplier carbon data into corporate reporting workflows. The collaboration is designed to help organisations move away from unreliable industry averages toward granular, “investor-grade” sustainability data.

The partnership connects the EcoVadis Carbon Data Network (CDN) directly into Workiva Carbon, allowing mutual customers to centralise Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions data. This integration enables companies to collect, calculate, and coordinate carbon metrics across their entire value chain within a single, governed environment built for assurance.

Bridging the Scope 3 data gap

Tracking Scope 3 emissions—those produced within a company’s supply chain—has historically been the most significant challenge in sustainability reporting due to a reliance on estimates. This new alliance positions EcoVadis as the primary data engine, helping suppliers upskill and report verified insights, while Workiva’s platform handles the complex calculation and disclosure of that data alongside financial information.

“Meaningful climate action starts with data you can actually trust,” said Dexter Galvin, SVP Climate at EcoVadis. “By replacing industry averages with verified supplier insights, we’re enabling organisations to master the complexities of Scope 3 emissions. This partnership is a vital step in transforming the global supply chain from a source of carbon risk into a driver of measurable climate resilience.”

Moving toward mandatory disclosure

As global regulations shift from voluntary to mandatory reporting, the ability to produce audit-ready data is becoming a critical requirement for corporate boards. The integration allows Workiva’s AI to surface insights and validate data quality, ensuring that sustainability disclosures meet the same rigour as financial reporting.

Mandi McReynolds, Chief Sustainability Officer at Workiva, noted that companies now require carbon accounting that connects directly to financial and risk data. “This partnership brings EcoVadis’ best-in-class Scope 3 supplier intelligence directly into Workiva’s platform. Companies can move from supply chain measurement to board-ready data and disclosure without ever leaving the platform,” she stated.

Expanding the carbon data network

The partnership is a cornerstone of EcoVadis’ wider Carbon Action Manager (CAM) solution, which includes tools like the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Calculator. By fostering a more interconnected ecosystem, EcoVadis and Workiva aim to drive reporting precision and scale global climate action across diverse industries.

The announcement marks a significant advancement for the “Carbon Data Network,” as EcoVadis continues to build a collective infrastructure that unites established technology partners to solve the transparency challenges inherent in global supply chains.
