Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) specialist Climeworks Solutions has finalized 14 new corporate procurement partnerships during the first half of 2026, securing contracts for approximately 450,000 tonnes of verified carbon removal.
The expanded order book covers a diversified portfolio of both engineered and nature-based carbon-sinking methodologies. Rather than relying solely on the firm’s core Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, the agreements distribute volume across multiple pathways, including Biochar, Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS), Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW), and Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR).
The newly signed agreements represent a broadening of the market’s buyer base, with demand expanding across banking, aviation, healthcare, luxury goods, retail, and artificial intelligence infrastructure sectors. Each of the 14 participating enterprises generates more than USD 5 billion in annual revenue, signaling increased engagement from large-scale multinationals integrating structural carbon removal into their corporate net-zero strategies.
The first-half contracts feature several strategic corporate milestones for Climeworks Solutions:
- Tapestry: Marks the company’s first procurement partnership with a North American retail and consumer goods group.
- NTT DATA: Establishes its first portfolio-based agreement with a major global artificial intelligence infrastructure provider.
- TD Bank: Represents the firm’s inaugural corporate partnership within the Canadian financial services sector.
The enterprise now services more than 200 corporate clients globally, including a substantial segment of the Forbes Global 2000. Based on current market data, more than half of the Forbes Global 2000 firms actively purchasing high-quality carbon removal solutions utilize Climeworks Solutions’ portfolio infrastructure.
The transaction follows a 100 per cent commercial delivery rate across all Climeworks Solutions portfolios throughout 2025. Ensuring reliable physical delivery has become a critical operational metric for corporate compliance officers navigating a carbon accounting ecosystem often impacted by project delays and supply constraints.
Adrian Siegrist, Chief Commercial Officer at Climeworks, highlighted the market’s transition toward blended carbon procurement strategies, “In just two years, Climeworks Solutions has established itself as a leader in this space by combining the best engineered and nature-based removals into diversified portfolios, while maintaining a strong focus on delivery, transparency and reliability. Building on over a decade of leadership in Direct Air Capture and a world-class scientific team, we are helping shape the market for high-quality carbon removal.”
